Discovery of new human kind of species in China

Image
Scientists reported on Friday that a gigantic fossilized skull dating back at least 140,000 years has been identified as a new species of ancient human, a discovery that could redefine how — and even where — our species, Homo sapiens, originated.      The skull of an adult guy with a large brain, gigantic brow ridges, deep-set eyes, and a bulbous nose was discovered. After a labourer discovered it at a building site in China, it had been hidden in an abandoned well for 85 years.      The new species was given the name Homo longi, and the nickname "Dragon Man" was given to it after the Dragon River region of northeast China, where the skull was discovered.      According to the researchers, Homo longi, not Neanderthals, was the most closely linked extinct human species to our own. If validated, it would affect how scientists see Homo sapiens' origins, which have been built up over time through fossil finds and ancien...

In the first incidence of Delta-plus in Rajasthan, a 65-year-old lady tested positive for the variant after recovering from COVID-19 in May and receiving both doses of vaccine. The woman, on the other hand, is in good health, according to government officials.      Rajasthan is now one of the states in the country to have registered the new viral strain. "The patient's sample was sent to NIV on May 31," says Parmendra Sirohi of Bikaner's PBM Hospital. "After 25 days, the state government received the reports, which were then sent to Bikaner district collector for further action."      "Special directions have been issued for tracking in and around the residence of the woman," Bikaner CMHO O.P. Chahar stated. "Anyone who has tested positive in the area in the last month will be tested again," he continued. This woman has already recovered from the Covid infection, according to Chahar.      The Rajasthan government is...

With the implementation of a new vaccination policy on June 21, India's immunization campaign has picked up steam. Over 30.79 crore people have been vaccinated against Coronavirus in India thus far. On Wednesday, 64.89 lakh vaccination doses were given out, followed by almost 53 lakh on Tuesday and an all-time high of 88 lakh on Monday. By the end of the year, India hopes to have vaccinated everyone over the age of 18. Will India be able to vaccinate in time to avoid the next wave? Experts are divided on whether the current wave of vaccinations can be sustained.      For the previous three days, India has reported roughly 50,000 new Covid-19 cases. The fatality rate and positive rate for Covid-19 have both decreased dramatically. On Thursday, the recovery rate increased to 96.61 percent. According to data from the Health Ministry on Friday, India recorded 51,667 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 3,01,...

Microsoft has officially unveiled Windows 11, its next-generation operating system. After Microsoft released Windows 10 in 2015, the operating system was released almost six years later. In the interim, Microsoft unveiled the Windows 10x, although it was eventually cancelled. Windows 11 has a completely new design and significant improvements over its predecessor, Windows 10. The design and user experience have been modified by Microsoft; it is now less cluttered and has more room. Windows 11 is a free upgrade for Windows 10 users.      In contrast to earlier Windows operating systems, the Start menu is now in the centre, with the search bar directly next to it. The Start menu used to be in the left corner of the screen, but it has now been moved to the centre to make it easier for users to find things. Microsoft has also enabled the creation of distinct Desktops for work, gaming, and school. So, let's have a look at some of the other cool featu...

Can your outdated laptop or computer meet the Windows 11 system requirements?

Image
Microsoft's long-awaited Windows 11 is finally here, and with it comes the biggest problem in gadget buying: whether to buy a new machine or keep their old one for a few more years. This problem is exacerbated when a new operating system is released. For example, Windows 11. Microsoft's new Windows has a variety of improvements, including a clutter-free and attractive interface for PC users. People are wondering if their old machine can run Windows 11 or if they need a new PC or laptop to run it because it seems so appealing.      I have the answers to your queries, but first, let me give you a refresher on what Microsoft has done in Windows 11.      The Windows 11 operating system is a significant update over Windows 10, which has been available for more than six years. The most significant change in Windows 11 is the new design, which places the Start menu in the center of the taskbar, adds widgets to centralize information, adds a new...

Is there dirty laundry floating about in space? Tide and NASA team together to take on the cleaning challenge

Image
What is the best way for astronauts to do laundry in space? They aren't.      They wear their underwear, exercise clothing, and anything else they have until they can no longer stand the filth and stench, at which point they discard it.      NASA hopes to change that — if not on the International Space Station, then on the moon and Mars — and stop tossing away heaps of soiled garments every year, stuffing them in the garbage and letting them burn up in the atmosphere on rejected cargo ships. As a result, it's collaborating with Procter & Gamble Co. to figure out how to launder astronauts' garments in space so that they may be reused for months or even years, much like on Earth.      The Cincinnati-based firm announced on Tuesday that it will send two Tide detergent and stain-removal experiments to the International Space Station later this year and next year, as part of the galactic fight against filthy and sweaty clothing.    ...

On Thursday, about a month after we witnessed the uncommon phenomena of a total lunar eclipse coupled with a Supermoon and Bloodmoon in the night sky, Earth's natural satellite will appear brighter and bigger than before. The astronomical event is noteworthy for two reasons: first, it is a Strawberry Moon, and second, it is a late Supermoon. Supermoon      The Strawberry Moon is the last Full Moon of spring and the first Full Moon of summer. On June 21, the Northern Hemisphere's summer season began with the Summer Solstice, the year's longest day.      On Thursday, the Moon will appear larger than on other days as it approaches Earth in its orbit, and it will likely be visible for three days in a row. WHEN WILL INDIA BE ABLE TO SEE THE STRAWBERRY MOON?   In India, the Strawberry Moon will be visible until 12.10 a.m., when it will reach its brightest point. The moon will not be seen until it climbs beyond the horizon in the evening a...
