As the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic showed strong signs of fading, the Telangana administration decided to reopen the state completely. "All branches" have been told to "fully lift all forms of regulations imposed during the lockdown."
"The state cabinet has voted to end the state of emergency. The decision to lift the lockdown was made after medical authorities reported that the number of corona cases has decreased significantly, the positivity percentage has decreased significantly, and the corona has been brought under full control "The Office of the Chief Minister shared the news on Facebook.
Telangana, one of the worst-affected states in the country, reported a 1.14 percent case positive on Friday. In a 24-hour period, there were little over 1,400 daily instances, but only 12 Covid-related deaths.
The rigorous lockdown imposed by the state administration has been credited with countering the more virulent Covid wave.
On June 9, the K Chandrashekar Rao government prolonged the lockdown by ten days. However, as the wave began to fade, it was able to relax some of the constraints.
The second wave of the pandemic, which has killed thousands of people and wrought havoc on the country's economy in the last two months, is progressively dissipating in other parts of the country as well.
In just 24 hours, India reported 60,753 new cases and 1,647 deaths.
Many of the Covid-affected states, including Maharashtra and Delhi, have also eased the limits.
Experts have warned that if anti-Covid measures are disregarded, a third wave of the coronavirus will inevitably strike the country in the following months.
